A incredibly rare matching set of six Hans Wegner JH525 teak armchairs for Johannes Hansen. Wegner's designs for Johannes Hansen were his most well known and sought after. The relationship between the designer (Wegner) and manufacturer (Johannes Hansen) was very important and is what makes Danish mid-century design, and these pieces so special. Wegner was first and foremost a craftsman and this quality is what comes through in his work. This design proves this through the superb joinery and subtle details that went into it's construction. We love the front and rear seat supports which is carried out in some of his other designs. As well, the unique wrapping of the upholstery around the sides of the seat is very handsome. The teak frames are in good condition and have a very nice warm patina. It is a versatile design which would fit into any home or office setting as a dining, occasional, desk or conference chair.
