DESCRIPTION:
A pair of ash chairs by H.W. Klein for Lervad. These chairs were a prototype design for Lervad and were acquired as part of H.W. Klein's estate. Klein's designs ususally have an interesting element to them and in these chairs we see just that. The slats that form the backrest have a unique inset joint that connects them to the rear posts. We see this same concept in the side chair where the wood seat is inset into the side portion of the frame. The frames are constructed of solid ash and are joined with exposed finger joints. The profile of the arms are kidney shaped allowing for a comfortable feel for your hands as well as providing an interesting visual. The seat on the armchair is covered in a nice Danish wool melange weave. This design was usable for public spaces as the side chair has a fold out brace under the seat to connect it to the next chair in a row. A unique pair for your modern space or for your Danish modern collection.
