DESCRIPTION:
A classic Hans Wegner easy chair for Carl Hansen & Søn. Designed in 1951, this chair along with the related CH29 dining chair, was one of the first five designs Wegner drew for Carl Hansen. Nicknamed the "Sawback" or "Sawhorse" chair, it's unique form is one that only Hans Wegner could imagine. The design relies heavily on the construction of the piece, especially the joining of the rear post, the front leg and the arm. This is what set Wegner apart from other designers since he was first and foremost a cabinetmaker. These skills allowed him to execute such unique pieces of furniture. Not only is the chair stunning to look at, it is surprisingly comfortable and has a generous amount of seating area. The frame is made from solid white oak and we have covered the seat in brand new Kvadrat Danish wool. A wonderful chair that would compliment any modern setting.
