DESCRIPTION:
A beech rocking chair design by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn. This model is loosely based on one of Wegner's first rocking chair designs; the J16. It has the signature joint at the armrest and front post that most of Wegner's designs for Carl Hansen posses, as well as a slightly more substantial construction. Also, the ladderback design differs from the J16's spokeback. The top of the rear posts have a groove to allow for hanging a neck cushion. It is quite an elegant design that works well with other Wegner pieces. The rocking motion is smooth and the rope seat offers a very comfortable sitting experience. This piece would make a great addition to any modern setting.
