DESCRIPTION:
A tea strainer from the Cylinda line by Arne Jacobsen for Stelton. Of any mid-20th century designer, Jacobsen has the most pieces still in production. His designs truly do stand the test of time and are as modern today as the day they were conceived. This tea strainer is one of the more rare pieces from the Cylinda line and is from the original production. Its unique 2-piece design allows for the strainer to be used on your cup and then placed in the holder to rest and drain any excess liquid. When it was originally produced, tea was of much higher quality and could be simply steeped by pouring boiling water over and strained. Production ended soon after because of the decline of the quality of tea and Stelton reintroduced this piece as part of an anniversary gift set when they felt it was once again useful.
