BØrge Mogensen #232 FDB Danish Modern Oak Sideboard
A classic oak sideboard cabinet by Børge Mogensen
for FDB. This was one of the most popular of Mogensen's designs for the Danish Co-operative. This particular example uses the more rare and desirable truss style legs as opposed to a plinth. This design is a fine example of Mogensen adhering to his mentor and instructor Kaare Klint's functional philosophy of design. It's stripped of all unnecessary decoration and the interior is well thought out to provide the user with ample room for almost any requirement. Opening the doors using the custom brass keys/handles, reveals solid beech adjustable shelves and drawers which can be used in a variety of combinations on either side of the interior. The outside is adorned in a gorgeous caramel coloured oak veneer. The entire piece is constructed of solid wood core including the shelves. This piece would make an
wonderful addition to virtually any modern setting.
